Immortal Path Preview 5
12 May, 2010
  • It's been a bit longer than we'd expected since our last update, as we've been busily putting the finishing touches on the Immortals upgrade.  We're almost there folks, so you won't have to wait too much longer to get started! We're planning on weeks rather than months here.

So, without further delay, here's a preview of 2 more of our Immortal Paths open to anyone!

    Time Lord
Time Lords are a confused bunch, as could be expected from anyone who messes with reality at a fundamental level like they do.  When asked, many speak of relation to critical events as opposed to dates and places, and when further questioned about their origins, they speak as though they were always a Time Lord, then in the same sentence speak of becoming one in the future yesterday.  Annoying to say the least!  Their mastery over the flow of time is second to none however, with all the imaginable benefits.

Time Lords begin with the ability to slow time, then stop it, and finally rewind it altogether, allowing them to erase certain mistakes (such as being gutted like a fish in battle).  They actually review and select more favorable outcomes, and force themselves to exist in this particular occurrence, rather than actually change time itself (that's impossible they claim).  This translates to a lot of messing about with causality and an equal amount of unfair kills, avoiding wounds and re-do's on random results, which would be perfect if not for the dreaded paradox elementals, who do their best to hunt time lords actively, often when they are kicking back enjoying a pint at the tavern.  Beware, this is not a path for those who like certainty in their actions! Stuff will get weird!

    Vampire
While originally thought to hail from the Deadlands, Vampire cult have sprung up across the land and can be seen in all cultures.  While some consider the curse of vampirism a disease to be cleansed (particular in the Steel Empire), all who know of it acknowledge that in exchange for all their drawbacks, allergy to sunlight being the obvious one, Vampires are effectively immortal as long as they drink the blood of the living.  What's more, this feeding grants the vampire super human strength and speed, along with other less tangible benefits.

Vampires drain the blood of their foes mid battle, healing their wounds at super speed, allowing them to fight almost endlessly (as long as the blood doesn't run out!).  They have increased AR and DR due to their physical improvements, and it's whispered that they can turn the minds of lesser beings against themselves, sending them into a trance, making them easy prey!
