Drop Bears Attack!
26 January, 2016
  • "It happens every year. Around the 26th of January, just when our hangovers from New Year celebrations are almost over, that these fuzzy critters start falling from above with crazed looks in their eyes." He motions towards the pile of fur and claws on the ground, roughly the size of a large dog and still looking menacing despite its recent defeat at the hands of the tavern's bouncer.

"They're called Drop Bears, and while they may look like the native Koalas of this region (who are not this nasty), these ones are vicious blighters, as deadly as demons and cranky as a dwarf with no ale."

How'd they get here you ask? The seers and druids speak of portals opening up from other dimensions, letting a bigger and angrier version of the cute the cuddly natural ones to stream through. Sometimes from trees, sometimes from the roof over your head, sometimes just out of the empty sky above." He looks up, as if reminding himself to check.

None of us are safe for the next few days, either from drop bear attacks, or strained necks from looking upwards. The chiropractormancer bills alone will send us broke! That's why I'm offering a bounty on the Drop Bears. Any adventurer who can defend us against them, gets free booze and gold, until the threat has passed."

    Attack of the Drop Bears

For a limited time, the Attack of the Drop Bears event will be running, to help celebrate Australia Day! These normally lovable creatures will appear at random anywhere and everywhere across the dungeons and exotic lands found in Dragon Tavern.

Defeating these cruel invaders will result in bonus loot (Double even!) and bonus XP (Double again!).

As an aside, Koala's in the real world are suffering through various environmental and man made troubles, and we at Rowdy Baron Games would like to donate 10% of all sales through this event to the Australian Koala Foundation. They're doing great work to help preserve these amazing creatures, and we'd like to help. All credit purchases are currently doubled.
